Description

The Japanese prints of plants and birds are referred to as Katcho -e. Starting as a Chinese painting tradition during the Momoyama period in 1573, bird and flower compositions reflected Ming refinements and decorative elements.Subsequently, Ukiyo-e artists working in the 1600s were sensitive to the decorative aesthetics of Katcho-e as assimilated by Kano Motonobu.
